At The Salvation Army Imbali Corps, we gathered for an exam prayer service, coming together to support students preparing for their final examinations. The service began with a reading from James 1:5–6, reminding everyone that when we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and that we must ask in faith without doubting.
A table covered with a white cloth, symbolizing purity, clarity, and God’s presence, was placed at the center. Four candles were arranged, each representing a key virtue. The red candle reminded students to keep their hearts and minds focused on their goals, the purple and gold candle encouraged them to seek God’s wisdom in every decision, the yellow candle represented understanding and clarity, and the light blue candle stood for peace and trust in God. In the center of the table, an open Bible displayed James 1:5.
Retired Major Mhlongo lit each candle during a short reflection, encouraging students to trust God for understanding, focus, and peace throughout their studies and exams. Parents, leaders, and youth joined in prayer, committing the minds and hearts of the students to God.
The service was a time of hope, encouragement, and faith, as the Imbali Corps community came together to support its students in preparation for their exams.
