The World Day of Prayer stands as a worldwide ecumenical initiative spearheaded by Christian women, inviting all to unite in prayer and the active pursuit of peace and justice.

The 2024 programme has been crafted and curated by the Christian women of Palestine. A group of Palestinian Christian women, embodying an ecumenical perspective, has participated in prayerful reflection and discussion in recent years to respond to the task of developing this year’s programme. Focused on the theme “I Beg You… Bear With One Another in Love,” derived from Ephesians 4:1-7, this endeavour encourages us to embrace one another with love, enduring through trials and adversity.

Today, during the THQ family prayers led by Lieut Colonel Nokuthula Mahlobo, we observed the World Day of Prayer with the participation of THQ staff, supported by the Cadets and CFOT staff. The worship service highlighted the narratives of three Palestinian Christian women, showcasing the incredible power of standing united in love. These women’s stories shed light on the diverse experiences of Palestinian women across three generations. The worship service prominently featured the symbol of an olive tree, which serves as a powerful representation of these three generations, embodied in the trunk, branches and leaves of the tree.

We strongly urge you to seek out a local meeting and attend this World Day of Prayer at your Corps or a nearby church in your community. Let us pray, for our Father surely hears!
