Administrators and a small number of selected staff members from Social Centres across the Territory gathered in Johannesburg last week for a conference designed to strengthen collaboration, build capacity, and equip those serving in The Salvation Army’s social ministries. The conference provided an opportunity for participants to engage with one another, share experiences, and receive updates on a range of important operational matters that support the effective running of Social Centres.
Throughout the conference, delegates attended sessions covering key areas including Information Technology (IT), Finance, Public Relations (PR), and Human Resources (HR). These presentations offered practical guidance, updates on current processes, and opportunities for discussion, helping participants to remain informed and better equipped for their responsibilities. The gathering also reinforced the value of working together across the Territory, ensuring that Social Centres continue to provide compassionate, professional, and – above all – Christ-centred care to those they serve.
