Territorial and Divisional Leaders from across the Southern Africa Territory gathered in Johannesburg from 13–16 July 2026 for the annual Leaders’ Gathering. Hosted by Territorial Leaders, Colonels Stephen and Theresa Malins, together with the Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Lieut Colonels Themba and Nokuthula Mahlobo, the four-day event provided an opportunity for leaders to worship together, pray, and reflect on God’s leading as they considered the mission and future of The Salvation Army across the Territory. Through times of Biblical reflection, discussion, and shared learning, delegates were encouraged to keep Christ at the centre of their ministry and to remain committed to serving God’s people with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.
The gathering also created space for leaders to engage with a range of strategic, operational, and ministry matters affecting the life of the Territory. Sessions led by Territorial Headquarters representatives from various departments equipped delegates with information, resources, and practical guidance to support their leadership and ministry. Throughout the week, there was a strong emphasis on working together under the shared leadership of the Territory, ensuring that every aspect of The Salvation Army’s ministry continues to reflect its mission of sharing the love of Jesus Christ, meeting human needs, and making disciples.
