Recently, Veterans Day was observed at the Education and Development Centre (EADC), which was a special occasion of celebration and encouragement for all in attendance. The Cadets, Mission Team and EADC Staff went the extra mile to make the day special for retired Officers in the Central Division, expressing gratitude to these Veterans who faithfully served as Officers until reaching retirement age. The event recognized their unwavering commitment to God’s service, fulfilling the mission to save souls, grow saints, and serve suffering humanity. Scripture highlights the value of consulting with senior citizens. Job 12:12 reminds us of the importance of honouring and seeking counsel from the elderly. When making significant decisions, King Solomon valued the wisdom of older individuals. A Zulu proverb aptly captures this wise strategy: “Indlela ibuzwa kwabaphambile” (ask those who have walked the path). We are grateful for our retired Officers who have walked the path! Veterans Day truly was a heart-warming time of fellowship! May God continue to bless our retired Officers.
