This week, the Champions of the Mission arrived at the College for Officer Training (CFOT) to commence their two-year training period. There was much excitement and anticipation as the 12 men and women of God settled into their new environment. The Welcome Supper for Champions of the Mission and their families on Wednesday evening was a warm gathering as people connected and engaged.

On Valentine’s Day, an assembly was held with CFOT staff and FTO Captain Sibusiso Mlambo sharing a message from Luke 10:27-28. The incoming Cadets also had the opportunity to pray for and bid farewell to Mbongeni Khubayi (Mission Team 2023) as he departed for the Western Cape from CFOT for a Candidate Helper placement at Goodwood Corps.

The Champions of the Mission shared a special Valentine’s Day Lunch with Training Officers and Support Staff. After lunch, staff and cadets went into the community to pray with passers-by and handed out roses with Scriptures about God’s love, leading to great conversations.

Today was the first In-Sunday for the new session of Cadets conducted by the Training Principal, Major Colleen Huke, supported by the CFOT staff including their inauguration as Champions of the Mission, hence the medals! God bless the Champions of the Mission of the Southern Africa Territory as they commence their training to be Officers of The Salvation Army! We praise God for each Champion of the Mission and look forward to their Welcome Service next week at Peart Memorial Corps!
