Today, we invite our Salvation Army family and friends across the Southern Africa Territory to join us in prayer, lifting our voices in unity for Mozambique. As we face challenging and uncertain times, we know we serve a God who sees every situation, hears our prayers, and draws near to those who call on Him.
Following the recent elections, Mozambique is experiencing political unrest, creating instability and uncertainty. In moments like these, we hold on to the promise of Jeremiah 32:17: “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power. Nothing is too difficult for you.” God’s power surpasses any challenge, and His wisdom can guide us through the storm.
We ask you to join us in praying for God’s divine intervention and to stand with us in faith as we lift these specific needs before the Lord:
1. Peace and Calm
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9
Pray for an end to violence and unrest in Mozambique. Ask God to bring His peace that surpasses all understanding, calming hearts and restoring order across the nation.
2. Wisdom for Leaders
“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will.” — Proverbs 21:1
Let us pray for the political leaders of Mozambique and the SADC regional leadership. May God grant them wisdom, discernment, and a heart for justice as they navigate these complex issues. Pray that their decisions would lead to reconciliation and lasting peace.
3. Protection for the Vulnerable
“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” — Psalm 9:9
Pray for God’s protection over the most vulnerable communities in Mozambique. Ask the Lord to shield them from harm, provide for their needs, and bring comfort to those affected by the unrest.
4. Unity and Healing
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1
Pray for unity among Mozambique’s communities and churches. Ask God to heal divisions, bring about reconciliation, and restore a spirit of togetherness that reflects His love and grace.
5. God’s Will and Righteousness
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne.” — Psalm 89:14
Pray that God’s will would be done in Mozambique, and that His righteousness and justice would prevail. Ask for His guidance in every decision and for His kingdom purposes to unfold in this season.
Pray for Our Salvation Army Leaders in Mozambique
Let us also remember Lieut-Colonels Jabulani & Fikile Khoza, the Territorial Leaders of the Mozambique Territory. Pray for their strength, wisdom, and protection as they lead through these difficult times. May God’s hand be upon them, their Officers, Soldiers, and the communities they serve, bringing hope and resilience.
Share the Call
We ask you to share this call to prayer with your networks and communities. As we unite in prayer, we believe that God hears and responds with power and compassion. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Let’s come together with hearts full of faith, trusting that He is able to do what only He can do.
