The Mid KwaZulu Natal Division welcomed the Territorial Leaders, Commissioners Torben and Deise Eliasen, on the 16th and 17th of August 2025. This was their final visit to the Division before entering retirement in December. As a Division, we organised a picnic on Saturday the 16th at Joseph Baynes Child and Youth Care Centre. It was a relaxed day with a full programme. The Durban Sectional and Ladies Band were on duty, along with the Siyakhula Youth Group from uMlazi Corps. It was a beautiful day filled with fun, music, and games. Our people had the opportunity to connect with their leaders and also share words of farewell.

On Sunday, the Division gathered at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall for the official farewell service. The PMB Section, Weneen Section, and the Durban Sectional Band provided inspiring music. The City Hall was packed as people from across the Division came to give thanks to God for our Territorial Leaders. Several speakers shared moving tributes, recognising Commissioners Eliasens’ leadership in the Territory. Mr. D.T. Dhlovu spoke on behalf of Mid KZN soldiers, Ms. Akhona on behalf of the youth, Major Tersia Finn on behalf of the officers, and Mrs. Susan Kidgell from Montpelier Corps on behalf of the Home League.

We are deeply grateful to the Divisional Mobilisation Committee for organising such a meaningful weekend and for their hard work in ensuring that Mid KZN gave our leaders a memorable send-off.
