Young people from across Central Division gathered for an inspiring and Spirit-filled Y-Connexion weekend, united around the theme “See”, based on 2 Kings 6:16–17: “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” The programme was intentionally designed to help delegates look beyond what is visible and recognise God’s presence, power and purpose in their lives.
The weekend opened with a vibrant time of praise and worship, opening remarks from the Divisional Leader, Majors Brendan Browski, and the introduction of the weekend’s special guests, the Territorial Mission Team and Captain Mpumelelo Dathini, who ministered throughout the conference. As the theme, “See” (2 Kings 6:16–17), was introduced, young people were challenged to ask God to open their spiritual eyes so that they could recognise His presence, His purpose and His power, even in the midst of life’s challenges. The Y-Connexion was organised and led by the officers of Central Division, with valuable support from the Divisional Youth Board, whose planning and service helped make the weekend a meaningful experience for all who attended.
Following the morning devotion, the delegates divided into two age-specific groups. The young adults gathered for an engaging panel discussion where they explored real-life issues from a Biblical perspective. The panel, comprising Captain Dumisani Fakude, Mrs Merisha Naicker, Mr Themba Nkutha and Major Leanne Browski, addressed topics including faith, relationships, discovering God’s calling, and healing from trauma. The session was highly interactive, with young adults given the opportunity to ask honest questions and receive practical, Christ-centred guidance.

Meanwhile, the younger delegates participated in an obstacle-course challenge. Each station focused on a Biblical principle, including perseverance, overcoming trials, carrying burdens, helping one another, resisting conformity to the world, and keeping their eyes fixed on Christ. These practical experiences helped reinforce the theme of the weekend, encouraging participants to trust God and see life through the eyes of faith.
The afternoon also included the Y-Con Cup games tournament, allowing young people to build friendships, enjoy healthy competition and strengthen relationships across the Division. The evening concluded with an energetic youth celebration featuring music, ministry items, drama, dance, and worship, creating an atmosphere of joyful praise and worship.

The final session on Sunday brought the weekend to a meaningful conclusion as Captain Mpumelelo Dathini shared the Word. Times of worship, prayer and a final challenge encouraged delegates to carry what they had experienced back to their Corps and communities. As Yconnexion closed, participants were reminded that, like Elisha’s servant, God desires to open our eyes so that we can see His presence, His power and His work around us, even in life’s most challenging circumstances.
Y-Connexion 2026 was a weekend of spiritual encouragement, fellowship and renewed vision, equipping Central Division’s young people to return home with hearts focused on Christ and eyes open to all that He is doing.
