In celebration of Social Week, the Home League ladies from Vryheid Corps, accompanied by Lieutenant Ziphozethu Keyisi, went to town on Wednesday to run a soup kitchen, feeding 30 people. The Corps Officer shared a prayer and encouraged those present by reading from Psalm 118:8, “It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.”

On Mandela Day, the HL ladies visited a nearby school, Besterspruit, to distribute 33 femine hygiene products to the most disadvantaged children. The Corps Officer offered words of encouragement, shared a prayer with the children, and read from Exodus 20:12, “Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

In the afternoon, Divisional Commander Major V. Buthelezi, Lieutenant Ziphozethu Keyisi, and one HL member, Ms. Mbuyisa, identified five elderly homes in the Vryheid Bhekuzulu community. They visited these homes to distribute parcels containing mattresses, pots, plates, cups, and toiletries. The team also took time to pray with the residents, bringing comfort and a sense of God’s love to all they met.
