Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord and Saviour. My name is Cadet Precious Fakude. I’m married to Captain Dumisani Fakude, and we are blessed with three children. Although I was born and raised in Emangweni in the Mpumalanga & eSwatini Division, we settled in Pietermaritzburg in the Mid Kwa-Zulu Natal Division, where we became soldiers at Imbali Corps. It is a privilege to have this opportunity to share my testimony.
Just like the Samaritan woman who couldn’t contain herself after encountering Jesus, I cannot contain the joy and peace that He has bestowed upon my life. The Lord has been so good to me, and He continues to work wonders in my life.
Too often, I find myself reflecting on my journey and I’m still in awe of what the Lord is doing. When I read the story of Mary in Luke 1:30-38, I smile because I, too, can attest that God’s favour has rested upon me, and it’s truly amazing. I once believed I didn’t deserve His grace because of the life I was living—a life that was not pleasing in His sight. Yet, His grace found me as I surrendered myself to Him.
I asked for a second chance to live a purposeful life according to God’s will. Before coming to the College for Officer Training, He blessed me with a job close to my heart, one that involved empowering young people. Then came my marriage to a man I never even imagined, for God knows our hearts. Before I knew it, we were a loving family, and I felt so loved and highly favoured.
My turning point came when God called me for His ministry at such a time as this. I humbly said yes to being His servant. As I live each day, I get to share His good news and testify that I am living in His grace and have found favour in the eyes of God—and so can you.
