From 27 to 29 November 2024, The Salvation Army’s leaders from across Southern Africa gathered for the Territorial Leaders Conference. Under the theme “Greater Things Are Here and More to Come,” the event was marked by a sense of purpose and spiritual encouragement.

Throughout the three days, the leaders engaged in meaningful dialogue and discussions, strengthening efforts to focus on the way forward for the Territory’s mission and ministry. Sessions covered vital topics, including Compass—the Global Strategic Framework, the Territorial Strategic Plan, sectional matters relating to business, communication and public relations, personnel, and programme, with dedicated time set aside to focus on Women’s Ministries. These sessions provided leaders with valuable tools, insights, and opportunities for dialogue. The conference also provided meaningful moments of fellowship. Leaders connected, shared experiences, and encouraged one another.

Commissioners Eliasen led the opening session, while Commissioner Torben Eliasen delivered a compelling keynote address that provoked thought and encouraged attendees to lead diligently. The conference concluded with a challenging message from Chief Secretary Lieut-Colonel Themba Mahlobo, urging delegates to listen attentively to God’s voice, trust His word, and cautioning against the dangers of doubting what He has spoken.

As the conference concluded, a sense of anticipation for the future remained. Leaders departed with a clear understanding of the tasks ahead, equipped to face the challenges and opportunities that lie before them. Trusting in God’s promises and guided by His voice, they move forward, confident that greater things are here and still to come.
