On 12 June 2025, The Salvation Army Northern KwaZulu-Natal Division joined hands with the Vryheid Corps Home League Ladies for a meaningful act of service as part of our ongoing Winter Campaign and Social Week Activities. Together, we reached out to 56 unemployed men gathered at the Vryheid industrial area—a familiar scene at the four-way stop where many wait daily, hoping for temporary work.
Recognising the bitter chill of winter, we provided a warm, home-cooked meal and distributed warm clothing to help ease the cold. These simple acts were met with deep appreciation and reminded us of the power of practical kindness.
This initiative is part of the Home League Ladies’ monthly outreach, where they faithfully collect food and prepare meals for those in need. Their continued commitment brings hope and practical support to some of the most vulnerable in our community—one meal, one warm item of clothing, and one act of love at a time.
