The Southern Africa Territory recently had the joy of welcoming the USA Southern Territory Staff Band, who are visiting our Territory alongside Territorial Leaders Commissioners Kelly and Donna Igleheart, and supported by Lieut-Colonels Allan and Fiona Hofer. Their visit has already been filled with moments of great significance and blessing, including participation in the Peart Memorial Corps 75th Anniversary and Dedication and Thanksgiving Service, as well as their involvement in the Territorial Music Camp which commenced on Monday, 6 October 2025.
On Sunday afternoon, Johannesburg City Corps hosted a special Songs of Praise celebration. The hall was filled with a spirit of joy and worship as the USA Southern Territory Staff Band joined forces with the Central Divisional Band for an unforgettable time of praise.
The afternoon began with a powerful musical proclamation from the USA Southern Territory Staff Band, calling the congregation to “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and declaring their firm commitment to “stand for Christ alone.” The atmosphere was one of worship as Lieut-Colonel Themba Mahlobo, Chief Secretary, welcomed everyone and introduced the guests.
The congregation then united in a stirring rendition of Crown Him with Many Crowns, the sound of voices and instruments echoing through the hall as a reminder of the majesty and glory of Christ. Following this, Lieut-Colonel Nokuthula Mahlobo shared a time of prayer.

Commissioner Donna Igleheart responded to the welcome extended to the visiting group, sharing warm greetings and words of encouragement. Throughout the afternoon, the Central Divisional Band, Southern Africa Territory Male Voices, and the USA Southern Territory Staff Band offered inspired musical ministry that touched hearts and pointed every listener toward the goodness of God.
Lieut-Colonel Allan Hofer later shared a word of encouragement, reminding those present to keep trusting God through every season of life. The meeting concluded with Commissioner Deise Eliasen pronouncing the benediction, followed by a beautiful postlude from the massed band that left the congregation uplifted and grateful.
It was truly a wonderful afternoon of praise, worship, celebration, and fellowship – all centred on the One from Whom all these blessings flow!
