The Peart Memorial Corps has been faithfully flying its flag in the White City community of Soweto since 1950. The Corps has rolled up its sleeves to serve people with love and to grow saints for God’s Kingdom.
Twenty-seven years ago, the Peart Memorial Corps soldiers had a vision to build a larger corps hall. Although the building process faced many challenges, the soldiers kept their eyes fixed on the vision and believed that God would be their ever-present help, providing the resources needed to complete the hall.
Despite the obstacles along the way, Peart has continued to be one of the most influential corps in the Territory. It is known for its many “firsts” in programme initiatives — to name a few, Peart was the first Corps to have a Men’s Fellowship, a Married Couples’ Fellowship, and an active Over-60s Fellowship.
The Corps is richly blessed in music, influenced by Songster Leader Ms. Nomthandazo Solomon, Bandmaster Ms. Mabo Buthelezi — who is also the first Territorial Bandmaster for the Ladies Band — and the late Professor Mzilikazi Khumalo. Our 75th anniversary celebration weekend included a music festival where we were richly blessed through song and praise.

On 4 June 2025, the Corps celebrated its 75th anniversary and officially opened the new Corps hall. We are deeply grateful to all soldiers, friends, stakeholders, and mission supporters who made it possible for the hall to be completed.
The new hall was dedicated by our Territorial Leaders, Commissioners T. and D. Eliasen, and Lt. Colonels T. and N. Mahlobo. We were also honoured by the presence of former Chief Secretary and TSWM, Commissioners K. and D. Igleheart, who once served in our Territory. They were accompanied by the USA Southern Staff Band, who were our guest band for the weekend.
The Corps acknowledged all the officers who have served at Peart Memorial Corps for their steadfast commitment, dedication, and contribution to its growth and to the building of the new hall. The names of these officers were engraved on a memorial stone to remind us of God’s enduring faithfulness.
We thank God for His faithfulness and for keeping us. Ebenezer! (1 Samuel 7:12)

We are greatfull to God for the work done at Peart Memorial Corps. God remains faithful.
