Territorial Leaders Colonels Stephen Malins, Territorial Commander, and Theresa Malins, Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, recently took part in a Back to School Campaign aimed at supporting children and families in need in KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape.

During their visits, children received essential school items including shoes, ties, skirts, trousers and jerseys. These practical gifts helped prepare learners for the new school year and eased some of the financial pressure many families experience at this time.

In the Eastern KwaZulu Natal Division, the Chief Secretary, Lieut Colonel Themba Mahlobo, and the Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Lieut Colonel Nokuthula Mahlobo, also joined the campaign. They assisted in distributing the same items to children in communities where such support makes a meaningful difference.

In total, 300 children benefited from the initiative. Beyond the physical items, the campaign was a reminder to families that they are seen, valued and supported. Through simple acts of care, The Salvation Army continues to express God’s love in practical ways while encouraging young people as they begin another year of learning.
