On Sunday 1st February 2026, Athlone Corps was filled with joy and celebration as the Western Cape Division gathered to witness the renewal of service for six Envoys and the commissioning of a new Divisional Envoy.
The Envoys present included:
- Envoy Karen Straub – Divisional Envoy
- Envoys Daniel and Amine Moussosso – Part-Time Envoys at Mannenberg Corps and ECD Centre
- Envoys Munyaradzi and Concillia Kuwudzadombo – Langa Corps
- Envoy Chamu Chigoche – Khayelitsha Corps
- Envoy Enthia Ndileka – Masipumelele Corps
The Athlone Worship Team led the congregation in praise and worship and the Envoys actively participated throughout the service, leading in song, Scripture readings, and prayer. Envoys Straub and Kuwudzadombo shared testimonies of God’s saving and keeping grace, reflecting on how “today was a fulfillment of my calling 30 years ago.”
The Divisional Band performed the march Faithful Service, with the refrain, “My life must be God’s broken life,” resounding through the hall. Ronnie from Cape Town Citadel beautifully performed the solo, Plea for Africa, during the service.

Major Carin Holmes, Divisional Commander, delivered a charge to the Envoys. She encouraged them to preach the Word of God boldly and without apology, to serve God’s people with sober-minded patience, to lead faithfully without leading others astray, and to guard their hearts while committing to the Spirit’s work within them.
The congregation was also challenged to reflect on their own calling, drawing from Isaiah 38: “From whom will you take the baton?” Members were invited to seek God’s guidance in their own lives, with many kneeling at the Mercy Seat, surrendering themselves to His will.
The service was a beautiful expression of God’s faithfulness, filled with worship, testimony, and a sense of purpose. It was an afternoon where lives were renewed, hearts were stirred, and God’s Spirit was clearly present among His people.
