The Vryheid Corps Home League ladies felt led to take the initiative to serve their community after identifying a need. Men of various ages in the community wake up during the early hours of the morning and stand in long queues, waiting for someone to come and pick them up for a job that day. Sometimes they are lucky, and someone will pick them up so they can provide for their families, but on other days, they go back home with nothing.

The Home League members realized that it would be good to provide something to eat, so even if they did not find a job that day, they could at least have something to eat. The Home League provided food for the men (soup & bread), prayed with them and Lieut Ziphozethu Keyisi shared a word of encouragement from Proverbs 3:5-6. It has been a great joy to see people paying attention to the Word of God. By God’s grace, 42 people were fed and received encouragement!
