Saturday, the 26th of October, was a significant day in the Mid Kwa Zulu Natal Division as our first Makoti’s Fellowship met at uMlazi Corps. The aim of this initiative is to create a platform and a safe space for all the young wives as they face many challenges. Many of them come to The Salvation Army because they married into a Salvationist home. We seek to create an environment where they feel welcome and supported.

In Titus 2:4-8, we are encouraged that older women must teach and train younger women. We also explored Ephesians 6:22-33 and what it means for us today.

We had various speakers addressing different topics. Mrs. Thwala shared her experience as an older woman, highlighting how God granted her wisdom and faith without compromising her beliefs. She has raised her children to be strong in faith despite challenging circumstances, and today she has a testimony of a faithful God who keeps His promises. Mrs. Langa from Imbali focused on holistic health, emphasizing the importance of taking care of ourselves, including our financial health, learning to live within our means, and being mindful of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She demonstrated a self-breast examination and reminded the women about the importance of pap smears in the fight against cervical cancer.

The goal of these fellowships is to establish groups in each Corps or Section, fostering strong relationships and support among the members. We had about 63 attendees, and we praise the Lord for a successful event. May this be the beginning of great opportunities for support and spiritual growth for the Makotis in the Mid KwaZulu-Natal Division.
