Cape Town Citadel was privileged to host the Welcome Meeting of Major Carin Holmes as our new Divisional Commander. After a foot-tapping African Medley by the Cape Town Citadel Songsters, Major Carin was installed as Divisional Commander in a moving ceremony officiated by Lt-Colonels Themba and Nokuthula Mahlobo (Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries). ‘
Various speakers delivered warm words of welcome, including Lieut. Desiré Dathini on behalf of all Women’s Ministries. Lieut. Desiré also welcomed Captain Phumla Mashaba as the Western Cape Divisional Secretary for Women’s Ministries. Captain Vukani Nkosi from Namibia spoke on behalf of the officers, and Garth Africa from Claremont Temple represented the soldiers. Simba Chigoche gave an excellent talk on behalf of the youth and children, followed with photos and sincere words of welcome from Captain Antony Palmer (via video from the Island of St Helena).
The afternoon was filled with lively singing and heartwarming contributions from the Divisional Band, a Male Voice Party, and the Masiphumelele Kids Dance Group. Major Carin then preached a powerful message centred around Samson, after which several seekers made their way to the mercy seat for prayer and counsel. All in all, a memorable and challenging afternoon of worship and ministry. To God be the glory!
