I would like to thank God and The Salvation Army leadership for granting me the privilege of being one of the delegates to the International College for Officers (ICO), Session 265, at Sunbury Court.
The six-week journey began with excitement, expectation, and some uncertainty. I was privileged to be part of the Indonesian translation group, where I learned from different cultures, heard inspiring stories, worshipped together, and spent quality time in prayer. Throughout this experience, I was encouraged, revived, and at times challenged as I learned more about the way Jesus taught, led, and, most importantly, the meaning of “taking off the mask” and being authentic before God and others.

One of the greatest gifts of this experience was being part of a learning journey that transformed my understanding of leadership, relationships, and faith. Some of the highlights included:
Living with Difference
I came to understand that each person is shaped by the social contexts in which they are born and formed. These influences affect their attitudes, beliefs, actions, and way of life. I learned that we are all unique, and it is important to embrace, respect, and value one another despite our differences. This experience deepened my appreciation for diversity and for God’s creativity in humanity.
Selfless Leadership
Learning more about the attitude and actions of Jesus helped me understand what it truly means to lead selflessly. Jesus demonstrated humility, compassion, servant-heartedness, and love in the way He led others. This challenged me to reflect on my own leadership and to strive to serve others with grace, integrity, and a Christ-like heart.

I am deeply thankful for all that the Lord has done in my life through this experience. Leaving the College and heading toward the Covenant Signing, holding my Bible in my hands, was a deeply meaningful moment. It was not simply about carrying a Bible or completing a journey that led to signing the covenant; it was a reminder of God’s faithfulness and His calling upon my life.
As I reflected on the journey ahead, I was reminded of Psalm 23:1: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
These words reassured me that God will continue to guide, provide for, and sustain me as I walk forward in obedience to His calling. I leave ICO with a renewed spirit, a deeper understanding of servant leadership, and a greater commitment to serve God and His people faithfully wherever He leads me.
