This week the Eastern Kwa Zulu Natal Division embarked on a mission to provide care, support and physical sustenance to the patients at the local community clinic in Eshowe. A total of 140 patients at the clinic received a nourishing meal, while 32 blankets were distributed to the elderly. The close proximity of the local clinic to the Divisional Headquarters (DHQ) allowed for a seamless engagement with this community’s needs.
This outreach brought an unexpected and heartfelt response from a community member on social media, describing his appreciation of The Salvation Army’s service at the clinic. In a post, the individual expressed, “We all know that heaven is seen only by the dead, but The Salvation Army chose to do things differently, by bringing heaven to earth – we have seen it with our own eyes!“
This testimony highlights the transformative impact of acts of kindness, echoing the Biblical principle of bringing God’s love into tangible, real-world situations. The Salvation Army in Eastern Kwa Zulu Natal remains committed to loving and serving the community with the resources at their disposal.
