Soldiers, adherents and friends of The Salvation Army from around the Northern Kwa Zulu Natal Division gathered to celebrate Easter at Gwegwede Circuit under the theme “In Christ alone.” We are grateful to Lieut-Colonels Thomas and Doris Dlamini for allowing God to use them to powerfully minister throughout the weekend. The weekend was truly centered on Jesus, with God’s people united ‘in Christ alone’ through worship, praise, dance, prayer and devotion to the Word.

We witnessed the Holy Spirit moving and working from the first to the last meeting. Hearts craving for Jesus were filled, and recommitments to serving Him faithfully were made. We are grateful and confident that He who commenced the good work is not done working in the NKZN Division. The sermons from the Officers were inspirational, directly from God’s heart to the ears of His servants.

In line with our Territorial Strategic Plan (2024-2028), the Divisional Commander, Major Velani Buthelezi, led us through a praise and Bible study session. The Bible study was from the book of Colossians, followed by a vibrant interactive time of growth and learning from one another. Giving through ‘shayatafula’ is always a beautiful and blessed time in which soldiers bring offerings to advance the Gospel in the Division. Saturday concluded with a praise meeting/umlindelo led by the Home League, followed by a midnight march and prayer, proclaiming that ‘He has risen and is alive!’

Indeed, Jesus is alive! The concluding Bible message on Sunday from Lieut-Colonel T. Dlamini challenged us to truly leave our former lives behind and move forward in His truth, proclaiming Jesus to the entire world. We thank the Almighty God for making this weekend possible; His grace has proven sufficient. In summary, ‘ukhonzekile uThixo e’NKZN.’
