Ms Nombulelo Tingwe shares her inspiring testimony following her recovery at The Salvation Army’s Booth Memorial Hospital in the Western Cape.

I greet you all in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour. I need to share with you how good God has been to me. I am 70 years old, but you would think I am much younger because I am so fit and well. I give God all the glory for that.

I come from a village near Queenstown in the Eastern Cape. A few months ago, I became so ill that I was falling, weak, and started having fits. The doctors there couldn’t determine what was wrong with me. I came to my daughter in Cape Town and ended up at Groote Schuur Hospital. They discovered I had a brain tumor called a meningioma, and in February 2024, I had to have brain surgery to remove the tumor. After the surgery, I was bedridden and couldn’t do anything for myself. My left side was paralyzed, and my speech was affected like someone who has had a stroke. I couldn’t even feed myself or go to the toilet. I was sent to The Salvation Army Booth Memorial Hospital to recover.

When I arrived at Booth Memorial Hospital, I came on a stretcher and still couldn’t do anything for myself. I was just in bed, and the physiotherapist and occupational therapist started to work with me. They put me in a wheelchair every day, and I started to get stronger. After a few days, I began to walk with a walker, and the therapists all helped me and taught me a lot. Soon, I was walking with just a stick, and now I am walking alone. I even learned to walk up and down the stairs again, and my balance is good now. I can use my affected arm normally, and I can do everything for myself. I am so thankful to God for answering the many prayers that have been prayed for me. If you could see me, you would see that I can even dance, and I am praising the Lord!

God is so powerful, and He is the Healer. I was discharged on 11 April 2024. I thank everyone at Booth Memorial Hospital for the good care I have received because all the staff were so good to me. I am so excited to share my testimony with everyone and to tell them that our God is a miracle-working God. I have learned that if you have faith in God, He will never let you down.
