The Salvation Army Southern Africa Territory is pleased to announce that our Chief Secretary, Lieut Colonel Themba Mahlobo, has been elected to serve on the National Executive Committee of the South African Council of Churches (SACC). This committee plays a critical role in overseeing the SACC’s finances, interpreting policies, and managing the implementation of various programmes that address key societal issues.

As a member of the committee, Lieut Colonel Mahlobo will be actively contributing to promoting social justice, national reconciliation, and economic transformation within South Africa. His involvement will also help to strengthen the bond between The Salvation Army and the wider Christian community, highlighting our shared commitment to these important causes.

This week, The Salvation Army was well represented at the national SACC conference by Lieut Colonel Mahlobo, Major Thataetsile Semeno, Major Magdeline Mugama, and Major Velani Buthelezi. Together, they engaged in meaningful discussions and networking opportunities with other church leaders, reflecting the unity of the body of Christ and our desire to work together for the salvation and transformation of our nation.

We congratulate our Chief Secretary on this significant appointment and look forward to seeing The Salvation Army and other churches work together, united in Christ, as we pursue the mission of bringing His hope, healing, and salvation to our country!
