This morning, Officers serving at Territorial Headquarters (THQ) gathered for a dedicated time of spiritual encouragement. The Territorial Leadership of The Salvation Army takes seriously the responsibility to pastorally care for Officers at THQ, just as Divisional Leaders are called to do for those serving on the field.

Commissioners Torben and Deise Eliasen, supported by Lieut-Colonels Themba and Nokuthula Mahlobo, led the morning sessions, which included worship, prayer, messages from the Word, and time set apart for quiet, personal reflection. It was a meaningful opportunity to pause amid the responsibilities of ministry and be reminded of God’s presence and calling.

A special moment was set aside to pray for Major Vukani Nkosi and Captain Sindisiwe Nkosi as they prepare to take up their new appointment in Namibia. Surrounded by their colleagues, they were upheld in prayer and encouraged for the journey ahead.

While it remains the personal responsibility of every Officer to nurture and guard their own spiritual life, it was a blessing to be encouraged and challenged through the Word—especially as Officers were invited to reflect on the legacy they will leave and what it means to truly follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
