The 2025 Brengle Institute, held in a beautiful setting in the Central Division, brought together 29 delegates for a week of spiritual renewal under the theme Radical Obedience. The sessions were facilitated by the THQ Personnel Department – Lieut-Colonel Thomas Dlamini, Lieut-Colonel Doris Dlamini, and Major Leanne Browski. Special guest Commissioner Miriam Gluyas, the Territorial Commander of the Australia Territory, led the week’s teaching, while Lieut-Colonel Lenah Jwili also contributed two insightful sessions.

A Journey of Holiness
The programme featured key teaching sessions on Holiness and the Bible, A Heritage of Holiness, Holiness and Culture, and The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit. Commissioner Gluyas led seven core teaching sessions, as well as daily Growing Through Prayer gatherings. Through creative and deeply personal approaches, she helped delegates explore what it means to pray, listen, and respond in obedience to God. Morning devotions, led by Major Leanne Browski and Lieut-Colonel Doris Dlamini, provided moments of reflection and challenge, setting the focus for each day’s journey with God.

Moments of Grace and Small Groups
Delegates met in small groups throughout the week for Moments of Grace, holy spaces where they could share honestly about their faith journeys and personal struggles. Each group experienced three of these sessions, which became tender times of prayer, encouragement and healing. In Small Group Sessions, participants reflected on daily teachings, shared insights, and encouraged one another in their pursuit of holiness. These gatherings highlighted that holiness is not an individual quest, but is helped by a shared walk of faith and support.

Silent Hour
Every day included a Silent Hour, a quiet time for delegates to pause, reflect, and commune with God. This intentional stillness provided a special and holy rhythm to the week, allowing hearts to rest and listen for the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit.

Worship and Prayer
Thursday evening’s Prayer Concert offered delegates a meaningful opportunity for worship and intercession. Through creative prayer stations, worship, and intercession, delegates engaged with God in meaningful ways, bringing burdens, gratitude, and praise before Him in a spirit of surrender.

Opening and Closing Sessions
The Brengle Institute began on Monday with an opening session led by Lieut-Colonels Themba and Nokuthula Mahlobo, who brought words of encouragement and challenge. The Chief Secretary welcomed delegates, urging them to open their hearts to the refining fire of the Spirit, while the Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries shared a keynote message from 1 Kings 12:1–14 on surrender, submission, and elevation, reminding all that it is our job to surrender, and God’s job to elevate.

The final day included a deeply moving Holiness Meeting, during which delegates testified to how God had spoken and worked in their lives. Commissioner Gluyas shared a message from Joshua 3–4:12, calling delegates to consecrate themselves so that God might do amazing things among them. Each delegate received a stone on which they wrote a personal reflection before laying it before the Lord in an act of surrender and remembrance.

Later on in the morning, Commissioners Torben and Deise Eliasen led the Covenant Service, drawing from 1 Thessalonians 5:23 as the Territorial Commander encouraged delegates in their ongoing walk of holiness. Each participant signed a personal covenant of commitment and received a certificate of attendance for the 2025 Brengle Institute.

A Life-Changing Week
The Brengle Institute delegates were truly blessed to sit under Commissioner Gluyas’ teaching throughout the week. Her gentle spirit and her wonderful ability to communicate God’s truths in ways that are both clear and practical deeply touched those who attended. She did not shy away from speaking uncomfortable truths, yet she did so with grace, humility and sincerity. Above all, the love she has for God – so beautifully reflected in the way she loves His people – has left a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of the delegates.

The Brengle Institute proved to be a powerful time of encounter, learning, and life-change. Delegates experienced God through worship, teaching, confession, and renewal, leaving with hearts strengthened and a renewed passion to live lives of Radical Obedience. The atmosphere throughout the week was filled with openness and spiritual hunger, as God worked mightily in every life. To Him be all the glory, great things He has done!
