The officers and staff of William Booth Boys Hostel in the Northern Kwa Zulu Natal Division gathered in the Multipurpose Hall for a special prayer service to support the hostel residents as they began their examinations.
Lieutenant B. Nkambule shared a devotion from Genesis 37–42, titled “Dreams Do Come True.” He reminded everyone that, like Joseph, we all have dreams that can become reality when we place our trust in God. Though there may be hardships and challenges along the way, it is not by our own might or power, but by His Spirit that we are led and guided.
Following the devotion, the group watched a motivational video titled “Do Not Settle for Average.” Lieutenant S. Nkambule then led a powerful time of prayer, dedicating each young person before God.
The second part of the programme was dedicated to honouring the Grade 12 learners from both the hostel and the Corps. Lieutenant S. Nkambule encouraged them to remain focused and fully present in each examination. She then presented each learner with an exam care package filled with thoughtful treats and supplies.
Mr. Wandile Nxumalo, one of the hostel prefects for 2025, expressed words of gratitude to the officers and hostel staff for nurturing him during his five years at the hostel. He noted that moments of prayer and fellowship such as these play an important role in their wellbeing as young men.
To conclude the service, Lieutenant B. Nkambule read Joshua 1 as a prayer over the Grade 12 learners, committing them to God as they embark on this next step in their journey.
