There was a tangible sense of joy and expectation at Katlehong Corps on Sunday 26 October 2025 as Salvationists gathered for the Central Divisional Holiness Meeting. Not a single seat remained empty as people arrived with hearts ready to worship and encounter God in a fresh way.
Captain Siya Mcineka opened the meeting with a prayer chorus followed by a time of prayer. The Divisional Director for Women’s Ministries, Major Sengeziwe Nhandara, warmly welcomed everyone in attendance.
Chief Secretary Lieut Colonel Themba Mahlobo brought words of encouragement from Isaiah, declaring God’s promise: “See, I am doing a new thing.” He then extended a special welcome to Commissioner Miriam Gluyas, Territorial Commander of the Australia Territory, who is visiting Southern Africa as the special guest of the Brengle Institute taking place this week.
The Chief Secretary also introduced the guests of the day, General (R) André Cox and Commissioner Sylvia Cox. Commissioner Cox responded with warm appreciation, expressing how deeply she has missed Southern Africa, especially the people, the music, and the enthusiasm in worship. Commissioner Sylvia shared inspiration from Psalm 105, urging the congregation to give thanks, call on God’s Name and make Him known among the nations. She encouraged everyone not to keep the Lord to themselves but to go and tell what God has done.

A united praise and worship team led the hall in vibrant worship before Captain Mcineka prayed “Thath’ iNdawo Yakho,” meaning “Take Your Place,” inviting the Lord to reign in every heart and throughout the meeting.
The Divisional Youth Band ministered through a moving performance of “The Blessing.” Divisional Commander Major Annanias Nhandara took a moment to thank the people of the Central Division for their generous support of OWSOMS this year, celebrating a significant increase of nearly 20 percent from last year’s total. Musical ministry continued through a beautiful timbrel presentation from the Katlehong Corps Youth and the contribution of the Hosho team. The Divisional Songsters offered a powerful reminder of Christ’s sacrifice through their song “Mvana kaNkulunkulu, wena osusa izono zomhlaba sihawukele,” proclaiming Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
General (R) André Cox shared the Word of God under the theme “Separation from Sin,” preaching from Proverbs 13:1-6. He challenged believers to remain on the way of the righteous, listening to God’s voice, guarding their speech, working hard, loving truth and living with integrity. Lieut Colonel Themba Mahlobo led an appeal time, offering space for personal reflection and an invitation to the mercy seat before the closing song, “Would You Be Free.”
Before the Benediction, the visiting leaders were acknowledged and gifts of appreciation from the Central Division were presented. Commissioner Sylvia Cox then pronounced the benediction which drew the meeting to a close.
The congregation left encouraged by the message and ministry shared throughout the day, thankful for the opportunity to worship together and meet with God.
