Exciting news from Goodwood Corps – they’ve kicked off a Young Adults ministry called ‘Breathe,’ inspired by Job 33:4: ‘The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life‘. Breathe is designed for the 19-35 age group, and their first meetup was an excellent start to a meaningful journey together. Lots of laughs, deep talks about The Word, and inspiring stories were shared. The first gathering was like a breath of fresh air!

Lieutenant Mpumelelo Dathini shares that at Goodwood Corps, the inception of ‘Breathe’ was the result of a pressing need—to actively engage a demographic often overlooked but crucial within the church: young adults. Earlier this year, the Youth Department encouraged Corps to prioritize investment in the lives of young adults. This age group is faced with significant ethical, spiritual and mental challenges, including issues such as navigating relationships and unemployment. For those employed, the question often emerges, ‘How do I live out my faith in today’s world?’ ‘Breathe’ is intended to be a refuge for young adults facing their challenges amid the noise of worldly voices, assuring them that the breath of God can breathe life into every part of their journey.

Readers, we want to hear from you too! What’s happening in your Corps for the 19-35 age group? Share your stories and ideas – it will be like a brainstorming session for awesome initiatives that can spread across the Territory for our young adults. Let’s keep growing together, side by side!
