When believers in God come together in prayer, amazing things happen! The early Church, which witnessed both remarkable numerical and spiritual growth, actively engaged in prayer. The Book of Acts mentions prayer at least 30 times! The early Christians prayed together, having faith that their Heavenly Father would hear and answer their prayers according to His will. The outcomes were truly incredible! In Acts 12:5, we read about the church earnestly praying for Peter while he was imprisoned, and miraculously, an angel rescued him. What seemed impossible became possible! We too can witness transformative results when we join together in prayer.
Once a month, every month, a Day of Prayer has been marked on the Territorial Calendar. The first one is scheduled to take place on Friday, 26th January. All Corps, Centres and ministry units are encouraged participate in this time of prayer by hosting a prayer meeting in their ministry unit. The prayer meeting can take on different formats – from prayer walking to prayer concerts to half nights of prayer to digital prayer times – and so much more! A resource has been developed and shared with Divisions with practical, creative ideas for prayer. As your Corps/Centre/ministry unit engages in the monthly prayer days, please share photographs of these prayer gatherings so that we can inspire and encourage one another!
We anticipate great things as God’s people humble themselves in prayer and seek His face! Surely greater things are coming!
