The Y’Conn Cup provided an excellent opportunity for young people from across the Western Cape Division to participate in healthy soccer and netball inter-Corps games, with 200 people attending the event. Held at a University of Cape Town venue and organised by a dedicated task team from the Divisional Youth Board, the event highlighted the talent and sportsmanship of the youth.

The result was a highly successful event featuring 10 soccer teams from 6 Corps and 8 netball teams. The winners of the Y’Conn Cup were:
Soccer:
- 1st Place: Athlone Corps
- 2nd Place: Cape Town Citadel
- 3rd Place: Strand Outpost
Netball:
- 1st Place: Matroosfontein Corps
- 2nd Place: Bonteheuwel Corps
- 3rd Place: Goodwood Corps

In addition, Bonteheuwel Corps was honoured with the Team Spirit award for their conduct and enthusiasm.
The significance of holistic growth for our young people, including their physical development, is paramount, as seen in the life of Christ as described in Luke 2:52. The Y’Conn Cup emulated this holistic approach, as it not only encouraged physical activity but also promoted friendship and unity among the youth.

We extend our gratitude to our Divisional leaders, the Divisional Youth Board, and the task team for their support and commitment to making this event a resounding success.
