On Monday, July 15th, Divisional Leaders and Territorial Leadership gathered in Johannesburg for the annual Divisional Leaders Consultation, a crucial meeting dedicated to discussing mission-related matters vital to the future of The Salvation Army’s work in the Southern Africa Territory.

The consultation opened with a keynote address by Territorial Commander, Commissioner Torben Eliasen. This meeting of Territorial and Divisional Leadership was marked by a sincere commitment to seeking God’s guidance.

A significant portion of the consultation was devoted to prayer. Leaders took this time to open their hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit, seeking God’s wisdom and direction for mission. Every officer and their children throughout the Territory were lifted by name before the Lord, asking for God’s blessing and guidance over their lives and ministries.

The consultation concluded on Wednesday, July 17th, with a time of reflection and meditation on the Word of God, led by Lieutenant Colonels Themba and Nokuthula Mahlobo. The Divisional Leaders Consultation was a beautiful blend of intentional prayer, thoughtful recommendations, honest dialogue and heartfelt intercession for the Territory. The Officers in attendance leaned into the power of prayer, trusting that God hears and will act. As hearts sought His guidance, there was assurance that these moments would bear fruit in God’s perfect timing. Conversations were rich, discussions meaningful, and prayers fervent. Delegates left the consultation with the belief that God is at work and that the seeds planted in this time together will yield a bountiful harvest in the days to come.
