The Mission Team recently participated in the “Feet First” campaign in the Mpumalanga & eSwatini Division, a transformative experience for both the community and the team members. The campaign included two days of intensive training on the purpose and benefits of the “Feet First” approach, focusing on sharing the Gospel, personal storytelling, and practical evangelism techniques. This was followed by three days of active ministry, which involved one-on-one street evangelism, door-to-door ministry, kids’ clubs, open-air ministry, and evening services. Being involved in Feet First had an enormous impact on the lives of the Mission Team members and this is what they wrote about their experience:

Charmaine shared how her involvement helped her overcome social anxiety and allowed her to connect deeply with people, restoring faith through personal interactions. She experienced the hand of God using her to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ boldly.

Asmeen found the experience refreshing, especially being in her home division. Despite initial fears, she felt empowered by the Holy Spirit and joyful, particularly after experiencing door-to-door ministry that brought hope to a family in need.

Sbongakonke enjoyed the comfort of being in his home division, despite the challenge of sharing his testimony with familiar faces. He felt proud that his story touched many souls and demonstrated God’s power.

Mzwandile was excited to be in a new division and found the experience enlightening. Initially scared, he quickly adapted and found one-on-one evangelism to be productive and fulfilling. The open-air services were particularly impactful, leading many young people to commit their lives to Jesus.

Sinomhlobo felt nervous about her first one-on-one evangelism encounter but was encouraged by the positive reception from the community. She found great satisfaction in sharing God’s Word and bringing hope through door-to-door ministry and leading open-air services.

Angela experienced significant personal growth, overcoming confidence issues and self-doubt. She took on leadership roles, encouraged others, and prayed for them. Her time in Mpumalanga was both spiritually enriching and an opportunity to witness the area’s beauty and the kindness of its people.

Glory was moved by the restoration and revival she witnessed. She highlighted a significant encounter with a woman who had been contemplating suicide, which underscored the critical need for spreading God’s Word. This experience reinforced her understanding of the Salvation Army’s mission to save suffering humanity and showcased her personal spiritual growth.

Here are the detailed statistics of the people we reached out to:

  • One-on-One Evangelism in the Tonga Community: 2 people gave their lives to Jesus for the first time.
  • Evening Service at Mjejane Outpost: 7 young people committed their lives to Jesus.
  • Open Air Ministry at Mjejane: 3 individuals accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Kids Club at Mjejane Outpost: 15 children were led to Christ by the Mission Team.

Overall, the “Feet First” campaign in Mpumalanga & eSwatini did not only bring hope and faith to the community but also profoundly impacted the Mission Team members, deepening their spiritual growth and strengthening their commitment.
