From Saturday, September 21, to Sunday, September 22, 2024, Mangaung Corps in the Central Division celebrated 90 years of existence and service. The commemoration was conducted by the Chief Secretary, Lt. Colonel T. Mahlobo, and TSWM Lt. Colonel N. Mahlobo, supported by the Divisional Leaders Majors A & S Nhandara, Officers, and Envoys.

The Saturday evening service was led by the Corps Secretary of Mangaung Corps, Envoy K. Makokoe, who opened with prayer before the congregation joined in singing the Founder’s song. This was followed by a message of support from the Ward Councillor. Leaders were introduced by Lt. Mzwakhe Ngobeni. Lt. Colonel N. Mahlobo (TSWM) responded, acknowledging the significance of the milestone reached by Mangaung, further stressing the importance of continuous hard work and the vision of reaching another 90 years.

Messages of support were shared by Local Officers, with the Division represented by the Divisional Commander Major A. Nhandara. The Chief Secretary led the unveiling of the memorial wall and took a special salute. Envoy P. Makokoe shared the Bible message, followed by an appeal and benediction from the Divisional Commander. Music from the worship team and sectional band added a meaningful focus to the well-conducted service.

Sunday

The day started early with a March of Witness through the neighbouring streets of the Mangaung community. Envoy K. Makokoe led the indoor proceedings, during which the DDWM of the Central Division Major S. Nhandara introduced our guest of honour, Chief Secretary Lt. Colonel T. Mahlobo, and TSWM Lt. Colonel N. Mahlobo. The TSWM responded and enrolled more than 18 Junior Soldiers. The Chief Secretary shared the Word of God, challenging all Salvationists to do more for Jesus and to fight for a better legacy for the church. The DC shared closing remarks before Lt. Colonel N. Mahlobo closed the meeting in prayer.

The service was blessed with the presence and participation of the band, worship team, and men from the Division who were part of the Divisional Men’s Fellowship Conference.
