Today marked a significant milestone as young people from five Divisions arrived to begin their Mission Team journey. They came excited, anxious, and expectant—ready for God’s work in their lives. After time to settle in from their travels, the day gently transitioned from arrival to anticipation.

The Secretary for Personnel, Lt Colonel Thomas Dlamini, personally welcomed those who had arrived, affirming the importance of this moment before the team gathered for the official welcome. The group then shared a meaningful time of reflection, focusing on identity—the significance of their names, the stories they carry, and how they will carry this identity into the year ahead.

The Mission Team Director took the Territorial Leaders, Colonels Stephen & Theresa Malins, through the Mission House, sharing the vision and activities that will shape the year. This was followed by a shared dinner, opened in prayer by the Territorial Youth Secretary. Team members introduced themselves, sharing their Divisions and Corps, while Mission Team Coordinator Ms Neo Kolobe guided the team through the meal process.

Around the table, conversation moved beyond introductions into a deep and meaningful space. The Territorial Leaders expressed appreciation for being invited to the “Mission Team table,” highlighting the value of sharing honestly, authentically, and vulnerably in community.

Colonel Theresa Malins, Territorial President of Women’s Ministries, officially welcomed the team, describing the year ahead as an unfolding journey of purpose, calling, and mission. She encouraged the team to trust God in the process and to allow Him to unfold His plan in His time, step by step.

The Territorial Commander, Colonel Stephen Malins, then shared a devotion from Philippians chapters 1, 2, and 4. He spoke of a Spirit-led mission grounded in holiness, unity, and authentic faith. He reminded the team that mission includes both joy and suffering, calling them to faithfulness in prayer, commitment to Christ, and trust in God through every season. He affirmed that their mission matters—not only to them, but to the Territory, their Divisions, their Corps, and their families.

The evening concluded with a time of thanksgiving and dedication led by Colonel Theresa Malins, uniting the team in prayer and purpose as they step forward together into the year ahead in mission.

We extend sincere thanks to our Territorial Leaders for their support of this valuable programme, as well as to Divisional Leaders, DYOs, Corps, and families for standing behind and releasing these young people into this journey. With gratitude and expectation, we now look ahead to the year before us—Mission Team: Where transformation meets adventure.
