In a meaningful display of Christian care, The Salvation Army and the Methodist Church of Southern Africa worked together to bring support to families affected by the recent floods in the Emangweni community. Through this collaborative outreach, which reflected practical ecumenism, twenty eight families received groceries, clothing and blankets. The donations were provided by the Methodist Church of Southern Africa as part of its ongoing commitment to assist communities facing hardship.

Leadership from both churches took part in the visit. Those present included Deacon Simmy Ngomane, Limpopo District Mission Coordinator. Also in attendance were Rev Sva Waqu from the Mission Unit at Bruma Head Office and Rev Mbongeni VC Ngwenya, Superintendent Minister of the Nkomazi Mission Circuit 1125. Members of the Women’s Manyano from Nelspruit and the Inkomazi District also participated and offered encouragement throughout the outreach.

Alongside the material support, words of hope and prayer were shared with the families. Leaders reminded the community that God walks with us in seasons of difficulty and that they are not alone. A representative of the Emangweni community expressed gratitude to both the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and The Salvation Army for their timely support.

The partnership reflected the shared calling of the Church to serve, uplift and restore dignity where it is needed most. This joint effort highlights how churches can work together to bring care to their neighbours. As Emangweni continues to rebuild, the support offered will continue to bring encouragement to those affected.
