On Sunday, 1 March 2026, the Gauteng Corps Youth conducted a community outreach programme in the streets of Jeppe under the theme “You Are Loved by God.” The outreach aimed to intentionally share the message of God’s love while strengthening the visibility and presence of the church within the surrounding community.

A total of 14 young people participated in the outreach, accompanied by the Corps Youth Secretary (CYS), the Junior Miss Secretary, and the Corps Officer, Captain Z. Fakudze, who continues to encourage and inspire young people to actively go out and make a positive impact in the community.

During the outreach, the youth approached community members and passersby, engaging them in conversation and sharing the Word of God. Sandwiches were prepared and distributed as an act of love and care, demonstrating practical Christianity through service.

As the youth sang songs of praise and worship, children and community members gathered and joined in with excitement and joy. Some young people also engaged in one-on-one ministry, creating opportunities to pray with individuals, offer encouragement, and build meaningful connections with people in the community.

An encouraging outcome of the outreach was that many people indicated they were unaware that there was a church in the area. This highlighted the importance of continued outreach efforts and reaffirmed the need for the Corps to remain visible and actively engaged within the community.

As Gauteng Corps Youth, we believe this outreach will make a lasting difference. Our desire as young people is to ignite a spiritual fire within the community, bringing hope and reminding people that they are loved by God. Guided by the Territorial Youth Department motto, RED — Reach, Equip, and Disciple, the youth intentionally stepped outside the church walls to meet people where they are.

Through this outreach, we embraced our calling to be disciples of Christ—walking alongside community members, building relationships, and journeying with them in faith. We remain committed to making a meaningful impact, ensuring that the church is visible, approachable, and relevant within the Jeppe community.

The outreach strengthened the youth’s passion for evangelism and community engagement, and we trust that the seeds planted will continue to grow as we faithfully serve and walk alongside our community in Christ.
