The Mid Kwa Zulu Natal Division has continued to make a positive impact through its Winter Drive outreach programmes across various communities.
The Pietermaritzburg Section Winter Drive took place at Jika Joe Informal Settlement, where approximately 600 people were served a hot meal. The team then visited Sijabulile Children’s Home and spent time with the children through singing, fellowship, and encouragement. Blankets and groceries were donated to the home to assist with its needs.
The Territorial Leaders, Colonels Stephen & Theresa Malins accompanied by Majors Semeno, joined the outreach and shared an important Child Protection message with the children and community members. A large cake was shared with everyone, bringing joy and a sense of unity to the day. The local councillor was also present and supported the programme.

The Durban Central Corps Winter Drive reached 120 homeless individuals at Addington Beach. Through warm meals, care, and encouragement, hope was shared with those facing difficult circumstances during the cold winter season.
Durban Central Corps also had the opportunity to provide meals for 130 underprivileged children at a local school. This meaningful outreach was made possible through the generous support of the Newman Fund. The Corps is grateful for this partnership, which helped bring care and relief to many children.
KwaMashu Corps successfully carried out a Community Winter Drive Outreach. The Corps provided practical support and spiritual encouragement to vulnerable families, living out The Salvation Army’s motto, “Heart to God and Hand to Man.”
Umlazi Corps also reached out to children following a Kids Club programme by distributing fruit. This simple act of kindness promoted healthy living and brought smiles to many children while demonstrating God’s love in a practical way.
Through these outreach programmes, the Mid Kwa Zulu Natal Division continues to serve communities with compassion, dignity, and hope, making a positive difference in the lives of children, families, and vulnerable individuals during the winter season.
