On Saturday, 23rd February 2025, the Thohoyandou Townhall in the Limpopo Division was filled with the sound of joyful praise as Salvationists and friends from around the Territory gathered for a Spirit-filled Praise Meeting. From the very first note of the preliminary music, hearts were drawn into an atmosphere of praise and worship, creating a sense of excitement and anticipation.
Lieut-Colonel Themba Mahlobo, the Chief Secretary, extended a warm welcome, reminding everyone of the praiseworthiness of the Lord, and set the tone for what would be a joyful time of worship, reflection, and encouragement. The Limpopo Division led the congregation in joyful praise as the Name of the Lord was lifted high.
Commissioner Deise Eliasen, the Territorial President of Women’s Ministries (TPWM), shared an encouraging greeting, reminding the gathered Salvationists of our Covenant-keeping God—One who never forgets His promises. She urged those in attendance to serve Him faithfully as a covenantal people, fully devoted and committed to Him. In a beautiful moment of family and fellowship, the Chief Secretary and the Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries (TSWM), Lieut-Colonel Nokuthula Mahlobo, led the congregation in singing birthday wishes to Commissioner Deise Eliasen, celebrating her special day with love and joy before offering a prayer of blessing over her life and ministry.
Beautiful music echoed throughout the praise meeting, uplifting spirits and creating a vibrant atmosphere of worship. The Limpopo Divisional Band and Songsters, the Central Divisional Band, the Limpopo Timbrel Brigade, and the Mpumalanga & eSwatini Divisional Songsters each brought their unique contribution to the time of praise. The vibrant traditional dance of the host Division was an added blessing, a beautiful expression of culture and faith intertwined in joyful celebration.
The congregation was further encouraged by a challenging devotion from Lieut-Colonel Nokuthula Mahlobo, drawn from Jeremiah 38. She shared the story of Ebed-Melek, challenging the congregation to consider the importance of walking with God. She spoke of the necessity of surrounding oneself with the right company, standing firm in faith even when alone, and cultivating a heart of compassion in our walk with Christ. With conviction, she reminded everyone: “You cannot walk with God without being connected to God.” Her encouragement was clear—do not walk in fear, but walk in faith and keep walking with God.
As the meeting drew to a close, Commissioner Torben Eliasen, the Territorial Commander, pronounced the benediction. As people left the hall, praise was still on their lips, a song remained in their hearts, and there was a shared resolve to keep walking with God, trusting Him for the journey ahead.
