In a recent gathering organized by Mangaung Corps, Young Women (YWF) from the Far South Section of Central Division (Manguang, Galeshewe and Kimberley Corps) joined together for a day of physical and spiritual challenge. The day began with a time of prayer led by Lieut Khumalo, where the YWF prayed together and discussed the significance of praying in the Spirit. Following this, most of the group embarked on a 7-kilometer hike, which was a new and enjoyable experience for many. Although the hike had its challenges, only a few members couldn’t make it to the top. The hike served as a profound metaphor for the Christian journey, with its ups and downs, and the lesson learned was to persevere and help one another along the way.

During the event, two essential topics were covered. First, single parenting was addressed, encouraging the YWF not to feel devalued by their circumstances, emphasizing the importance of their roles in society and the church. The scriptural inspiration was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The second topic focused on self-confidence, urging the YWF to embrace their uniqueness and talents without comparing themselves to others. The scriptural reference was 2 Timothy 1:7, “we have not been given the spirit of timidity but of a sound mind.”

The event concluded with worship, prayer, and a fellowship lunch organized by the Mangaung Corps YWF, bringing the participants closer together in faith and fellowship.
