Well, where can I really start? I guess I will just start straight from the beginning. I want to share with everyone the incredible transformation God has brought into my life through Mission Team. Mission Team has been nothing short of a mind-blowing experience for me, and I would be lying if I said it’s not the best decision I’ve ever made in my life, because it truly is.
My Life Before Mission Team
I’ve always loved being a part of Salvation Army meetings from a young age. I was a committed young boy, and I never minded when my name was added to any programme because I was always willing to do anything for the Lord. In 2016, I was part of the Rejuvenation Congress programme that took place in Joburg – Ellis Park. For those who still remember, I’m that small, short boy who shared a testimony, but I’m all grown now.
After that testimony, everything took a different turn. I got a taste of the worldly life, but I quickly realized that the devil was trying to lead me astray. The devil is a liar, and I found my way back to the Father and repented.
My Life in Mission Team
The Mission Team has played a crucial role in the amazing transformation that God has brought into my life. I joined the Mission Team on the 1st of March 2023. It has been a remarkable year filled with valuable experiences and exposure in different aspects of ministry. Since joining the Mission Team, I’ve seen significant growth in myself, especially spiritually and mentally. I can now lead various Salvation Army meetings because of the knowledge I’ve acquired.
The Mission Team is a programme that’s incredibly beneficial for both young and old people. It has equipped and groomed me to become a better leader at both the corps level and in the community. I can now evangelize and guide others to grow in Christ. I take my spiritual disciplines more seriously now.
My love for ministry has grown since joining the Mission Team. I’ve even started a ministry I had never thought I would, where I lead homeless people to Christ and bring hope to them through the love of God. With the little resources I have, I manage to make sandwiches for them so they can focus while we fellowship together. A month into this ministry, a friend of mine joined me, and now we’re journeying with about ten people. I believe the Holy Spirit has been at work since I joined the Mission Team, and I am grateful for the work that God has started in my life.
In closing, one of my favourite verses says, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).
Thank you for your testimony Ivony, it has been great seeing you grow spiritually and also growing in knowledge. You have a lot of potential and I belive that God has big plans for your life, continue to serve and allow God to use you in any way.
