In an exciting collaboration, the Pretoria and Mabopane Corps are joining forces to make a meaningful impact on the lives of teenage mothers within their community.

Major Magdeline Mugama highlights the Corps’ partnership with a local clinic, addressing the needs of teenage and young mothers in an informal settlement. Recognizing the lack of support in anti-natal classes, The Salvation Army has stepped in, providing spiritual and emotional support to these mothers. This holistic ministry identifies additional needs such as food security and clothing, while also extending support to entire families often grappling with disappointment and anger. Some young mothers are navigating emotional crises, wrestling with depression and uncertainty about their babies’ futures. The Salvation Army stands in this space as a compassionate support, offering to walk alongside the teenagers as they navigate these challenging decisions. Major Magdeline Mugama emphasizes the deep need for assistance, welcoming contributions of baby clothes, toiletries, or nappies that will be gratefully received and distributed to these young mothers.
