I am often asked, “When did you decide to become an Officer’’? People often don’t understand when I say, it was not my chosen profession…the Lord called me to this work. The Hebrew writer said, “…no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God…”
Embarking on the journey of Officership has been both exciting and challenging. As a young Officer, you are entrusted with the responsibility of shepherding God’s flock, nurturing their souls, and leading them on the path of spiritual growth. It’s a role filled with immense joy and profound moments, but it can also be accompanied by moments of uncertainty, doubt, and awkwardness.
I have found myself in countless in situations that requires tact, sensitivity, and understanding. Engaging with diverse personalities, comforting the grieving, or addressing sensitive topics can often feel awkward and uncomfortable. I have embraced the difficulties as an opportunity for growth and learning. Remember that even Jesus faced awkward moments during His ministry, and it is in those moments that we often experience the greatest breakthroughs and connections.
Being an Officer has been an extraordinary calling that requires dedication, humility, and a deep love for God and His people. Embracing the challenges, listening to the Spirit, learning from mistakes, and burn passionately for the kingdom.
