From October 14 to 20, 2024, a dedicated team of cadets, College Training Staff, and local Salvationists from Eswatini in the Mpumalanga & Eswatini Division embarked on a life-changing evangelical campaign. This initiative, part of the Southern Africa Territory’s strategic plan, aimed to strengthen The Salvation Army’s mission in Eswatini by spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ and creating community connections.
Throughout the week, the team reached over 8,500 individuals in various communities through dynamic outreach activities. These included door-to-door visitations, open-air ministries, school assemblies, community conversations, and children’s programmes. Each interaction brought the light of Christ to hearts and homes, leaving a profound impact on local families and individuals.
Engaging Hearts and Transforming Lives
The campaign, themed “TSATSA JESU” (Take Christ), was more than an outreach—it was a call to transformation. During door-to-door visits, cadets shared the Gospel, offered prayers, and invited families to experience the love of Jesus. In the Ekudzeni community alone, they visited up to 25 homes, engaging 90 individuals in spiritual conversations. Many responded with openness, some accepting Christ as their Saviour, and others requesting follow-up visits.
Impact in Schools and Communities
School assemblies provided platforms to share messages of hope and raise awareness about child protection and human trafficking. The team visited both primary and high schools, reaching over 4000 students and parents. The messages emphasized God’s love and the importance of safeguarding children’s futures. Connections were made with over 1500 people at the malls during AHT and Child Protection Awareness outreaches.
Community outreaches were vibrant with activity. Open-air ministries in Eluselesele saw 53 young people and 19 adults commit their lives to Christ. The atmosphere was electric with worship, testimonies, and heartfelt prayers, showing the power of God at work among His people.
Compassion in Action
The team also participated in feeding schemes for elderly individuals, serving meals and sharing devotionals under the theme “Caring for God’s Treasures.” These moments of fellowship reminded the elderly that they are loved and valued, strengthening a sense of dignity and community.
A Memorable Conclusion
The campaign culminated in a Sunday service at Kamanzini Community Hall, where cadets delivered a powerful sermon on repentance, love, and redemption. The Holy Spirit moved profoundly, drawing many to the altar in prayer and commitment.
This outreach not only expanded the mission of The Salvation Army in Eswatini but also deepened the faith of all involved, reminding us that the love of Christ knows no boundaries. As seeds of faith were sown, the hope is that they will grow into lasting transformation for individuals and communities alike.
