The month of June ended on an uplifting and transformative note for the Limpopo Division youth and young adults, who gathered at Seshego Corps from June 27 to 29 for Y-Connexion. The weekend brought together young people from Khubvi Corps, Gaba Corps, Seshego Corps, William Eddie Corps, Thohoyandou Corps, Malamulele Corps, Sambandou Corps, Vleifontein Corps, Musina Corps, and The Mission Team, fostering fellowship, fun, and spiritual growth under the theme “Look Up.”
This theme, inspired by the International Day of Children and Young People 2025, served as a reminder for young people to lift their eyes to God amidst life’s trials and tribulations.
The weekend began with a warm welcome from the Divisional Commander and Divisional Youth Officer, setting a tone of unity and purpose. All young people and officers present participated in icebreaker activities designed to encourage connection among the diverse groups.
Throughout the weekend, various ministry expressions and messages from the Mission Team highlighted the importance of faith and resilience. One of the key sessions on Friday evening was titled “What’s My Name and the Story Behind It,” encouraging youth to reflect on their personal journeys and the significance of their names. A heartfelt testimony from a Mission Team member shared how her life was transformed by looking up to God, despite being abandoned, labelled, or judged by others. Her message, rooted in Psalm 68:5, emphasized God’s care for the orphaned and vulnerable, inspiring others to “look up” and seek God’s guidance.

Saturday’s programme featured an engaging talk show and podcast, where young people openly discussed the obstacles that hinder their relationship with God. The youth identified issues such as unanswered prayers, unemployment, lack of direction, and peer pressure. They were encouraged to couple prayer with action, obedience, and a proactive mindset to overcome these barriers.
The evening culminated in a lively talent show, where participants from various corps and the Mission Team showcased their singing and dancing talents, deepening a spirit of unity and celebration.

The weekend’s spiritual focus was reinforced through Scripture, with a closing message based on Mark 8:36: “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet lose his soul?” This was followed by a powerful sermon on Psalm 121:1–2, which urges believers to lift their eyes to the mountains and recognize that their help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Participants were encouraged to “look up” to discover their purpose, reject distractions, and trust in God’s plan to complete the good work He began in them.
The Y-Connexion weekend left a lasting impression on all who attended, inspiring them to carry the message of “looking up” into their daily lives. With renewed faith and purpose, the young people departed Seshego ready to face future challenges—armed with the knowledge that their help and hope are found in God.
