The new school year has just begun, and this year you will read many books. These books will help you learn new things, some will make you laugh, and some might even feel a little challenging. But the most important book you can read this year is the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word, and it tells the true story of His love for the world and for each one of us.
We believe the Bible helps us understand who God is, how much He loves us, how we can know Him, and how we can live in a way that honours Him every day. Although the Bible was written long ago by many different people, Christians believe God guided them as they wrote. That is why the Bible still speaks to our lives today, in our homes, schools, and communities.
The Bible tells one big story. It begins with God creating the world and loving everything He made. It shows how people sometimes chose the wrong path, and how God never stopped loving them. This story leads us to Jesus, who shows us what God’s love looks like and invites us to follow Him.
The Bible has two main parts. The Old Testament tells us about God’s work before Jesus came to live on earth, and the New Testament tells us about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, and how His followers shared God’s love with others. Through the Bible, God reveals His love to us, especially through Jesus Christ.
The Bible is full of exciting stories, songs, prayers, and wise words. It also helps us make good choices, gives us hope when life feels hard, and teaches us how to care for others. When we read the Bible, we are not just learning stories. We are learning how to live like Jesus.

This is how you could read the Bible:
- Start with prayer. Before you read, ask God to help you understand what He wants to show you.
- Read a little at a time. You do not have to read a lot. Even a few verses can teach you something important.
- Choose a good place to begin. Stories about Jesus in the New Testament are a great place to start.
- Think about what you read. Ask yourself what the story teaches you about God and how you can live it out.
- Talk about it. Share what you read with a parent, caregiver, friend, or church leader, and ask questions if you are unsure.
- Live it out. The Bible helps us love God and love others, so look for ways to put what you read into action.
The Bible is God’s gift to us, guiding us as we follow Jesus every day. Let’s make sure we make time to read it each day!
