Today, June 18, 2024, the Territorial Headquarters of The Salvation Army hosted a significant meeting between the Territorial leadership and the leadership of the Methodist Church in Southern Africa. The primary aim of this gathering was to strengthen ecumenical relations and explore collaborative opportunities between the two denominations. Representing the Methodist Church were Reverend Musi Losaba (Mission Unit Director and General Secretary Elect); Reverend Sikawu Makubalo (Ecumenical Affairs Unit Director); Ms. Nancy Heron (Connexional Justice and Service Coordinator); and Ms. Bonginkosi Moyo-Bango (Communications Unit Director). Both groups recognized and appreciated their shared Wesleyan roots, noting many similarities and potential avenues for working together.

The meeting highlighted the importance of unity in mission and service, with discussions centered on joint efforts to save souls, grow saints and serve suffering humanity. The leadership teams from both The Salvation Army and the Methodist Church expressed enthusiasm for future collaborations, aiming to leverage their strengths and resources to make a more significant impact on communities in need.
