On the 7th and 8th of June 2024, delegates from the Limpopo Division gathered at Thohoyandou Corps for an impactful two days of training in Protective Behaviours. The delegates included our Divisional Leaders, Officers, children and youth ministry leaders, and ECD practitioners.

The facilitator, Captain Phumla Mashaba, guided us through the theoretical elements and engaged us in practical activities. As individuals working with children and youth, we were reminded that beyond all else we can do for them, our commitment should be to ensure they are always protected.

Throughout the training, we were asked to place what we were learning within the context of the children we care for in our churches and education centers. This made it easier to think of ways to share the information with others and challenge ourselves to put it into practice.
The resources provided with the training were also very helpful, not only to brighten up the areas where our children gather but also to equip us when we present what we have learned to the broader community. We appreciated the experience and the opportunity to come together in fellowship. The training concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, which brought great excitement to us all.
