On the 5th and 6th of October 2024, we held a Men’s Fellowship Rally in Mpumalanga and eSwatini. It was a truly blessed weekend as men from various areas gathered in one place to worship God and listen to His message for us.
The rally was held under the theme “Pillars of Society,” emphasizing the critical role men must play not only in society but also in their families as leaders. We also explored the idea that men should be pillars in their Corps, actively leading and supporting the work of the Church to ensure its continual growth. Lt. Khumalo challenged the men to shift their mindset, encouraging them to pray fervently, just as men in the Bible did, and to lead prayer times and devotions in their homes.

Saturday began on a strong note with our guest speaker, Lieut Colonel T. Mahlobo, who introduced the theme by raising a challenge: What kind of pillars are we, and how can we better serve as pillars in society? This was followed by group discussions led by CSM S. Mongwe, where the men engaged deeply with these questions, exploring practical steps to strengthen their roles as leaders.

Another guest speaker, a psychologist, addressed key challenges men face at home. She emphasized that for a family to remain stable, it requires a strong leader—a pillar. She encouraged men to openly discuss the issues they face and seek help when needed, even if it means attending counseling. Being realistic and proactive about problems is essential for maintaining strong, healthy families.

Major T. Mabaso then spoke under the theme “A Pillared Father, A Structured Young Man,” urging men to live with the awareness that they are role models for younger men. He encouraged them to pass down their knowledge and wisdom, reminding them that their life experiences can be invaluable in guiding the next generation.

Sunday’s activities began with a March of Witness, followed by a powerful service filled with testimonies. Men sharpened one another, pledging to support the work of their Corps and to be mirrors of Christ in society. They were encouraged to give their tithe faithfully, trusting in the blessings that come from their obedience. Lieut Colonel Mahlobo closed the rally by urging the men to go out and be pillars in their communities, leaders marked by courage and integrity, standing firm against worldly influences.
